InstaCommentPicker (“we”, “us”) runs instacommentpicker.com, a tool that picks a random winner from the public comments on an Instagram post. This page explains what data we handle and why. We keep it to the minimum the tool needs, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
The post you paste
When you paste an Instagram post or reel link, we load that post's public comments (username, comment text, date and profile picture link) and send them to your browser so you can filter and draw a winner. We don't save these comments on our servers. We never ask for your Instagram login.
Technical information
Like most websites, we use basic technical information such as your IP address to apply usage limits and prevent abuse. It's kept only for a short time.
Your email (Pro only)
If you buy a Pro pack, we store the email you used on Ko-fi together with your plan and remaining picks, for up to one year after your purchase. We use it only to activate Pro and to help you if you contact support. Your browser also keeps your email on your device so you stay activated between visits.
Payments
Payments are handled by Ko-fi and its payment providers. We never see or store your card details — Ko-fi only tells us your email, the amount and which pack you bought.
Analytics
We use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site, which helps us fix problems and improve the tool. These tools may use cookies; you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Server logs
Like most websites, our servers keep technical logs (such as errors and, for Pro users, the email, post link and result of each fetch) so we can troubleshoot problems and answer support requests.
Who we share data with
We only use service providers that are needed to run the site:
- Hosting, database and network providers that run the site and its data storage
- Network providers that route our requests to Instagram
- Ko-fi, for payments
- Analytics providers, to understand how the site is used
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal data.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete your Pro record and email at any time by emailing [email protected]. You can also clear the email saved in your browser by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
